Black Velvet Espresso is the directors fourth venture since beginning in Acland St. St Kilda, in 1997.
This small, European style espresso bar comprises black and white tiled flooring, a stainless steel bench top and, but for a handful of stools, is standing room only.
Providing quality espresso is Black Velvet's primary focus, with a house blend roasted by Di Bella and daily single origins available from which to choose. A cold drip filter is on display, used daily and available for tasting and purchase.
A retail section including barista accessories, Keep Cups and plungers is displayed; while also available for purchase are coffee syphons, gas burners and other related products.
Coffee is available for retail purchase, both in beans and ground to order, as are a selection of single origin green beans that, in small quantities, are roasted to order in the hottop roaster.
A selection of slices, cookies, sweet and savoury muffins and little treats are on display to complement the espresso.
